LIFE COACHING DONE RIGHT: HIRE A LIFE COACH TO ELEVATE YOUR LEADERSHIP IN TIMES OF CHANGE
Calibrate to Navigate the Waters
OTHERS LOOK TO YOU AS THEIR LEADER
With the oscillating tides and shifting sands of the world today, leading others has become even more substantial as significantly more demands are being placed on leaders to step up. Change seems to move at a faster pace with the flux and flow of new data, new challenges, new decisions. People are looking to their leaders to provide some sense of calm and consistency to help navigate a path forward. They’re looking for islands of stability in the midst of stormy seas. It’s even more imperative today that leaders find balance within to provide balance to their teams and to their organizations. Leaders themselves are trying to find their center and bolster their capacity to push forward. Life coaching along the journey supports resilience, a reconnection with self and what matters, and a recalibration of strategy and direction.
HOW HAS YOUR LIFE CHANGED?
For many of us, our lives have been upended. The old norm is gone and the new norm is elusive. Change has a way of stirring up emotions – consciously and subconsciously, some of which support resilience and some do not. Stress, anxiety can fuel a sense of overwhelm and even burnout, which can deteriorate our ability to operate as effectively as we need to – in all realms of our lives and for those we care about.
Strategize Your Life for Greater Fulfillment
Most of us realize the challenge of trying to compartmentalize our personal lives and our professional lives. At no time in recent history has this become more apparent given current world circumstances. Many of us are working from home, trying to navigate sufficient boundaries between our personal and professional commitments and activities. The lines between have become more blurred as we host virtual meetings from our home offices in our sweatpants (or pajamas!), offer care and support to family members, and even homeschool our kids. Whatever your situation as a leader, you are most likely facing the compounded stress of life today and/or you are leading others who are facing similar challenges.

LIFE COACH VS. THERAPIST
Whereas a therapist focuses primarily on looking at the past and how it contributes to clients’ current life circumstances, a life coach focuses primarily on the future and how clients can achieve their goals (how they can get there from here). There are benefits to both services, yet they are distinct. There may be a time when therapy would be the best choice, especially if you want to heal old wounds or be free from the past (as examples). On the other hand, life coaching might be a better fit to help catapult you into realizing your full potential as a person and as a leader.
Make Your Life an Adventure Worth Living
Your Life Path is Unique to You
WHAT DOES A LIFESTYLE COACH DO EXACTLY? WHAT IS THEIR ROLE?
A life coach (and an executive coach who provides life coaching) is your partner along the path, someone to help you to the next mile marker and/or someone to help you make sweeping changes to your life. Either way, a life coach is in service of you experiencing your full potential. A good life coach does not just consider your personal life or your professional life, but the entire landscape in which you operate. Part of the life coaching process is typically to identify your top objectives or outcomes of the coaching. A coach’s focus is to support their clients (you) in reaching their goals. Through a series of coaching sessions, a professional coach considers personal development activities designed to help you. A coach “holds the space” for your confidential conversations and is also your champion.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF LIFE COACHING?
The benefits of life coaching can range from being able to handle specific situations as they arise with ease to experiencing truly lifechanging and transformative results. Each client has different personal goals, and the relationship between the life coach and client is important for ultimate success.
